Team Selection and Tryouts

At the beginning of each playing season, Raw Steel Hockey will conduct RSU Prospects Clinics. RSU Prospects Clinics provide an opportunity for families to evaluate Raw Steel Hockey training methods to determine if this level of training is appropriate for their players’ development. It also provides an opportunity for prospective families to interface with Raw Steel staff and families to assess the social climate of the club. This is an important aspect to a successful hockey season and should be included in every family’s consideration before joining Raw Steel Hockey Club.

RSU Prospects Clinics also provide Raw Steel Hockey trainers and coaches with a skills assessment of the player. This will allow the club to determine player skill level which will eventually translate to the number of teams Raw Steel will include in the club line-up and the number of coaches required.

Raw Steel Hockey will conduct two or more (as required) RSU Prospects Clinics for each age division before team selections are made. Players identified for selection to a Raw Steel team will be notified via telephone or email and invited to register as a Raw Steel player.

Currently, there are plans to have teams for the following divisions. More teams may be formed as needed.

Players are invited to attend RSU Prospects Clinics for consideration in joining a Raw Steel team. Filling any open team positions is at the descretion of the coach. Contact the team coach or send inqueries to info@rawsteekhockey.org
